Elliot Tidima Butsi (70) famously known as Biza in his community Madidi, Butsi started playing soccer in 1958 and has never lost passion for soccer.
He started playing for Rama Brothers in Rama next to Ga-Rankuwa but started his team in 1978 Madidi Black Squad FC.
Butsi also started a women’s team in 1986.
The team was playing in Mabopane for the Malfa league.
“Madidi has more talent only if parents can support their children that’s all we need to groom our youngsters,”
“Our schools have no sport activities, we would like the School Governing Body (SGB) and local businesses to help us with soccer tournaments,” he said.
“By doing this I am trying to keep out our youth from danger and keep them safe from many things,” he added.
Butsi would like to start a soccer league in Madidi that will help youngsters who have love for soccer to participate in.
“The problem is that we do not have enough teams and it has to be at least eight teams for it to work,” he said.
He further went on to say “councilors are failing to clean sport grounds. We ask anyone interested in sports to help us clean our sport grounds so that we can be able to use them.”
Butsi encourages anyone to come forward and help him with Madidi Sports Development Academy.
“We plead with parents to give their children support to also encourage them to engage themselves in sports activities in the area,”
Butsi concluded by saying that as Madidi Juventus football club they do not play for money, they only need a lot of tournaments and trials.
