Barton and Lebogang Letsoalo are helping young girls in surrounding high schools in Klipgat, Madidi and Mashamplane by donating sanitary pads to those girls who cannot afford them.
The initiative started when Bartin offered to buy sanitary pads to this young girl who unfortunately had her first periods while on her way back from school. That is where he realized the importance of creating an organization which will campaign for sanitary pads donations.
Bartin shared the idea with Lebogang, the two teamed up and had their first sanitary drive. Where they walked from Klipgat to Pretoria CBD, Sammy Marks square asking for donations and only managed to raise R19.50.
“But we never gave up, we have been to Ga-rankuwa complex, Goldrush Morula and even our local complex Klipgat USAVE,”
“With all the donations received; we managed to help Fumani High School, Klipgat High and Mafanela high school. Our campaign created a movement where we saw other organization riding on the idea of giving sanitary pads to disadvantaged girls of which we are happy about it because, it is not about us but the young girls,” said Lebogang.
Both Bartin and Lebogang are known for their MC and deejaying services; they currently receive donations/contributions by offering their services in return they get compensated and/or paid by sanitary pads.
